Marion Smith
Leadership Consultant, Positive Management Leadership, Inc.
In his role with Positive Management Leadership, Inc., Marion serves as the central point of contact during PML® programs, which include managing logistics and overseeing on-site execution to help ensure seamless experiences for all attendees.
Before joining PML®, Marion served as Coordinator of Exhibits for the Greenwood, SC Museum and Railroad Historical Center where his responsibilities included curation, development and design of historical and thematic exhibits, ensuring public engagement, educational outreach and alignment with the Museum’s mission and community interest.
He also had a thirty-five-year successful career in higher education as a Professor of Music specializing in choral music performance practices, lecturer in Music Theory and courses in Medieval, Renaissance and Romantic Music History. He completed his teaching career after twenty-seven years of service at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fl, where he was conferred the title Professor Emeritus of Music in 2014.
Concurrent with his career as an educator, Marion was Director of Music Ministries and Worship Arts at First United Methodist Church in St. Petersburg, Fl for nineteen years.
Marion is a graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana with a Bachelor of Music. He is also a graduate of Washington State University with Master of Arts. He also holds a Ph.D. Washington University.
